Course Introduction
About the Course
Welcome to “How to Measure your Organisation’s Carbon Footprint”.
Carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are at their highest in at least 800,000 years, and we all need to take action to help reduce the impacts of climate change. Organisations of all sizes can play an important role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and the first step is to measure their carbon footprint.
The purpose of this webinar is to help your organisation measure its greenhouse gas emissions so that you can start to take action to reduce emissions. Measuring your organisation’s carbon emissions is not difficult, but it does require some detective work in the organisation’s accounts and records.
The webinar is aimed at small and medium sized enterprises, but the international standards, the terminology and the conversion factors used apply to organisations of all sizes. However, the course does not cover the formal emissions reporting requirements for listed companies in many countries.
Course Objective
On completion of the webinar, attendees will be able to:
Describe the international standards that related to the measurement of greenhouse gas emissions
Identify the main greenhouse gases caused by human activity
Discuss, with examples, the three categories of greenhouse gas emissions
Explore national greenhouse gas emission conversion tables used for calculating an organisation’s carbon footprint
Create a plan to identify and measure their organisation’s greenhouse gas emissions
Calculate their organisation’s carbon footprint
Develop a plan to reduce their organisation’s climate impact
Who is the Target Audience?
The webinar is aimed at managers and owners of small and medium sized organisations who wish to measure their organisation’s carbon footprint
